How exactly do I search Salon Channel? Type a word (or several words) into the "search box" on any Salon Channel page, and then hit the "go" button (or the "Enter" key on your keyboard). The search engine will then look for any "matches" with your query in the Salon Channel directory.

Tips and Tricks: Searching for multiple words: Putting a space in-between two or more words will cause the search engine to look for each word. For example; searching for "hair dye" will produce results for matches of both words "hair" and "dye". If you want to search for the exact phrase "hair dye", enclose your search in quotes. Enclosing your search in quotes: This search will treat anything surrounded by quotes as a complete phrase. A match will occur only if the search finds a subject with exactly the same words as your phrase. Simplify your search words: Leaving off suffixes, and prefixes is a must when searching. A search for "Therapist" will not produce any matches if our category is named "Therapy". It is fine to search for a part of a word. In the previous situation, a search for "Therap" would produce results for "Therapy", "Therapist", "Therapies"..., just about any form of the word would be found.

How does a Salon Channel search work? After you've typed a keyword (or keywords) into the search box and clicked on the "go" button, Salon Channel searches for matches in the respective areas of our database. You can currently search for: directory categories, trade names, jobs, items on the auction block, events in the calendar, and messages in our message board. When you enter a specific area of our web site, the search box at the top of the page will be for searches within that area. If your search comes up with no results, a second search will take place. This search will be more liberal in order to get you some results. Some of the results found may not seen to have anything to do with your search. If you look carefully at the results, you will see that they contain similar letters to your search word. If no results are found on the second search, all we can do is ask you to rephrase your search an try again.
