First off...it's not 'dye' it's color, and if you are doing it yourself you suffer the consequences. There is a reason we are called professionals, we go to school for 2000 plus hours THEN we get advanced education. Hum....that doesn't come from a box off the shelf at a grocery store. If you are damaging your hair with over the counter garbage, then you are going to have to let it grow out to be healthy again, considering the cost of a trip to a stylist every so often, is it really worth having your hair in the condition it is in now? The big payoff is healthy hair. Now, if you think for one moment, that just because you found a message board full of professionals we are going to give you advice on your hair for FREE, get a clue. Call a salon, make an appointment and get a consultation. They are usually free and the stylist will be able to SEE the condition of your hair and make a recommendation based upon the texture, porosity, and length of your hair. NO one can help you if they don't know what is in it, what you have used, what products you normally use, your overall lifestyle, or otherwise.
